Mobile phone network Vodafone has started pre-ordering for the new flagship HTC Desire S handset, along with the budget Wildfire S mobile phone.
The Desire S arrives with a 3.7-inch 480x800 touch screen, with Qualcomm’s new 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, 1GB of internal storage and a 5 megapixel camera - whilst running from Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 with the HTC Sense overlay.
Vodafone has the Desire S on a £30 a month contract, which is accompanied by 600 minutes, an unlimited text message bundle and a 500MB data allowance.
HTC’s Wildfire S is the update to last year’s Wildfire handset, which ships with a 3.2-inch 320x480 touch screen, a 600MHz CPU, 512MB of internal storage and a 5 MP camera with a flash, along with Android and the HTC Sense UI.
Vodafone’s HTC Wildfire S offering is to launch in purple, grey and white, where the Desire S is set to arrive on April 8th and is available on 12, 18 or 24-month price plans.
The two mobile phones were amongst six devices the High Tech Computer Corporation unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, last month. One Mobile Ring managed to capture on video a hands-on walk-through of the Desire S , which can be seen here with an initial thoughts review, published here.
