Samsung Galaxy Tab WIFI-only edition tips up

On-line retailer Amazon is now selling the WIFI only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, before Samsung has actually announced the Android tablet device.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab arrives with a 7-inch touch screen, whilst running from the ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor, with 16GB of internal storage and with the Android ‘Froyo’ 2.2 OS.

The Samsung P1010 is identical to the standard Galaxy Tab, only without the built-in 3G module for Internet access - away from WIFI.

WIFI is only way this version of the Galaxy Tab can surf the web, along with tethering to a mobile phone and in much the same way as the upcoming Motorola Xoom or BlackBerry Playbook operates.

One Mobile Ring contacted Samsung who weren’t aware of a WIFI edition of the Samsung Galaxy Tab having been announced as yet, although it was rumoured at this year’s MWC that this model was in the works.

The P1010 now joins the other two recently unveiled Galaxy Tab iterations, with the 8.9-inch screen version and the 10.1 display size too. has the Samsung Galaxy Tab WIFI-only model available for £299, with the original WIFI+3G variant costing £379.99.
