Enterprise networking giant Cisco has updated its entire data center portfolio with the new switch fabric technology, offering unified fabric integration between data center hardware and software.
Cisco said that newly updated portfolio will allow organisations to create simple, secure and scalable unified data center fabric.
The company said that the latest additions and enhancements to its data center portfolio includes multi-hop Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) capability for the Nexus 7000 data center and the MDS 9500 storage switching platform.
Cisco also brought out the Data Center Network Manager (DCNM) software for managing end-to-end data center networks, offering deep integration with VMware vCenter platform. The company also introduced the NX-OS data center operating system aimed at enhancing virtualisation and simplifying operations.
The Cisco Nexus 5548UP and Nexus 5596UP switches that come with Unified Port capability along with the new ultra-low latency Nexus 3000 Series switch, were also released by the company.
