US wireless carrier AT&T's iPhone 4 call drop rate is more than double that of its rival Verizon Wireless, a new survey has revealed.
According to a recent survey conducted by market research firm ChangeWave, in the past 90 days, Verizon iPhone 4 customers suffered 1.8 per cent of calls being dropped while AT&T iPhone 4 owners experienced 4.8 per cent of calls dropped.
When it comes to consumer satisfaction, the two iPhone 4 sellers were almost neck-to-neck, the survey reveals. The company said that 82 per cent of Verizon iPhone 4 customers were 'very satisfied' while 80 per cent of AT&T iPhone 4 customers said the same. Around 16 per cent of Verizon iPhone 4 and 18 per cent of AT&T iPhone 4 users were 'somewhat satisfied'.
“In sum, while the survey finds overall customer satisfaction ratings are virtually indistinguishable between Verizon iPhone 4 owners and AT&T iPhone 4 owners, there are apparent differences in the relative percentage of reported dropped calls – where in the current survey Verizon is outperforming its industry rival,” the ChangeWave report read.
“It remains to be seen how well the Verizon network performs as the number of Verizon iPhone 4 owners ramps up and inevitably puts more pressure on their system,” the company added.
