Carphone Warehouse Introduces Unlimited Mobile Phone Data Allowance Deal

Carphone Warehouse has followed the deal of Three UK by introducing an unlimited data allowance for mobile phone users that starts from only £12 per month with a handset, the cheapest in the country.

Powered by Carphone Warehouse's MVNO, Talkmobile (opens in new tab), the deal promises a 99.7 per cent coverage thanks to its Vodafone partnership, UK based customer service centres and a true unlimited internet access.

Carphone Warehouse added on their press statement that "There’s no small print or fair-usage policy, so when we say ‘unlimited internet’ access we really mean it".

Amongst some of the phones offered for £12 are the HTC Wildfire, the Samsung Galaxy Mini and the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8.

The phones come with 200 minutes, 200 texts and on a two year contract equivalent to a TCO of £288 which is very competitive compared to the rest of the market.

It will be interesting to see whether Carphone Warehouse takes the concept of unlimited data (without fair usage policy) to Three UK's level; the latter promises no charge as long as the SIM remains in the phone, meaning that on its "One Plan" package at least, you can tether as much as you want.

Many have noticed though that Carphone Warehouse had yet to remove links pointing to a number of fair usage policies including a 1GB monthly data allowance.
