Three has confirmed that it will be selling the Nokia X7 smartphone although it didn't specify when, how much it will cost or whether it will be available on Pay As You Go.
Commenting on the announcement, Three's head of handsets, Sylvia Chind, said, “The Nokia X7 is a great multimedia device, combining picture, video and mobile internet needs into one savvy smartphone. With a best-in-class four inch AMOLED ClearBlack display, superb camera and fully customisable operating system, our customers will have a great entertainment experience on this phone using our super-fast 3G network.”
The device is made of stainless steel and has smooth curved edges. It runs on the new Symbian Anna operating system which is essentially a major upgrade for Symbian^3 mobile platform and includes a faster browser, full on screen portrait QWERTY keyboard and a rather nifty split view.
Other highlights include a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, an eight-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and an optical zoom and the ability to record in HD.
The phone is a rather similar to the Nokia N8, although the latter is better when it comes to the camera which boasts a higher pixel count, but loses out on the screen size.
