According to a report by Redmondpie, Milestone 1 of the upcoming Windows 8 has been leaked in the wild, with the pirated version available for download through torrent sharing platforms.
Though the version is believed to be quite old, dated September 22, last year, it certainly is capable of providing a few hints about this new OS from the software giant.
The release has found its place on the BetaArchive forums, and is currently available for download too. A number of legitimate sources have confirmed the leak as being the genuine product.
Microsoft bosses are quite annoyed with this release and know as a matter of the fact that being available in the torrent sites, the leaked version will spread like a wildfire in the pirate market.
The leaked version has reportedly come out with the file name, "6.1.7850.0.winmain_win8m1.100922-1508_x86fre_client-enterprise_en-us.iso", which eventually suggests that this is one of the earliest build of the OS, the exact date of compilation being 22nd September, 2010 is clearly indicated in the build string itself.
However, much to the relief of the company, an older version means the Milestone 1 doesn’t feature the brand new offerings such as the native SmartScreen file checking, no in-built PDF reader and many more.
