Chinese computer maker Lenovo is working on a new tablet PC device which will come with a massive 23-inch screen, the company revealed.
Speaking to tech website Tech Radar (http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile-computing/portable-computing/lenovo-working-on-a-23-inch-tablet-for-the-home-942414) at the Gadget Show Live event, William Cai, a senior marketing executive with Lenovo confirmed that the company is working on a new tablet PC devices including a 23-inch tablet, which he dubbed a home tablet PC.
Cai admitted that there was less mobility with the device but the company believes that there is a market for a large screen tablet PC that can be used by an entire family, similar to a desktop computer.
He said that the tablet will be based on the company’s All-in-One line of desktops and will come with significant weight reductions and an improved battery life.
“It's obviously not for full mobility use, but it could be moved from room to room in the house and used with a full keyboard, or as a television.Or you could lay it on a table top and use it for family games,” said Cai. Lenovo hopes to launch the device later this year.
The new tablet would be significantly larger than the current market leader the 9.5-inch iPad.
