Vodafone To Sell HTC Sensation Superphone First

Vodafone has already started to take preorders for the HTC Sensation as it promises to deliver the handset across major European markets over the next few months.

The Sensation was announced earlier yesterday at a press event and is the first HTC handset to feature a dual core system on chip from Qualcomm that runs at 1.2GHz.

As with the Desire S, HTC used a single block of aluminium to sculpt a unibody chassis for the Sensation. It is quite light at 148g and not very thick at 11.9mm, comes with five sensors, onboard GPS and a 1530mAh battery.

Patrick Chomet, Vodafone’s Group Terminals Director, commented on the announcement saying, "The HTC Sensation integrates multimedia content with relevant, thoughtful features, bringing an exciting new dimension to Vodafone’s smartphone range".

Like the rest of the higher end Desire range, the Sensation comes with Super LCD screen technology. In addition, the handset will be the first HTC smartphone to go beyond WVGA resolution (at 960x540 pixels) and to bring onboard the super resistant Corning glass.

Interested parties can register their interest on Vodafone's website here (opens in new tab); we expect the phone to go on sale around the middle of May 2011, with the handset available for free on £40 or higher tariffs.
