According to recent rumours, Nintendo is likely to launch the demo of its next-generation game console Wii 2 at the upcoming E3 conference.
This much anticipated revelation was made by the American gaming magazine the Game Informer. According to the magazine, the new system is likely to support HD resolution, but whether it will stand more powerful or less than its rivals PlayStation3 and Xbox360, is yet to be confirmed.
Reports suggest that the company has already held a demo of the console in front of select game publishers with the view of developing new titles for its “late 2012” release.
“Nintendo is doing this one right,” an unnamed source reportedly told Game Informer, “(It's) not a gimmick like the Wii”.
This news came at a crucial time when there was already a fair bit of speculation going around about a possible price-cut for the Wii console effective from May 15 onwards.
Considering the fact how Nintendo had brought in similar price cuts for its older products just on the eve of launching its newer systems, the rumour that the Wii 2 will be unveiled at the E3 pre-conference itself on June 6, is indeed quite logical, and neither unexpected.
However as sources from inside the company are reportedly claiming, Nintendo fans will have to wait for at least a year more till Wii 2 hits the market.
