Hewlett Packard might launch the upcoming webOS based Veer smartphone device on the AT&T network at a launch party scheduled for May 2nd.
According to an article on Pre-Central, the company has posted an invitation on its website, inviting people to register for a May 2nd HP Veer Launch Party Event which will include hands-on training, exciting demos and HP giveaways.
One Pre-Central reader claims that when he registered for the launch event, he was asked to bring along his ID badge or an AT&T or Best Buy Business Card, indicating that AT&T will be launching the device along side HP.
The HP Veer smartphone, which was unveiled on February 9th, is one of the smallest smartphone devices. The device comes with a 2.6 inch screen offering a resolution of 320 x 400 pixels. Veer is powered by an 800 MHz Qualcomm processor and 512 MB of RAM.
The tiny device also features a 5MP camera and offers support for 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The device is as big as a credit card but is 15 MM thick, thanks to its Qwerty slide out keyboard.
