Enterprise software developer Oracle is expected to patch 73 vulnerabilities in its business tools as a part of this week’s patch release.
Oracle’s upcoming Critical Patch Update, which will be released on April 19th, will cover most Oracle business software products along with those released under the Oracle-Sun banner, the company said.
“A Critical Patch Update is a collection of patches for multiple security vulnerabilities. This Critical Patch Update contains 73 new security vulnerability fixes across hundreds of Oracle products. Some of the vulnerabilities addressed in this Critical Patch Update affect multiple products,” Oracle explained.
According to a note about the security patch released by the company, the CPU comes with six security patches for the Oracle Database Server, of which two of the vulnerabilities can be remotely exploited by a hacker without the need for authentication.
Some other Oracle software being patched in the massive security release include Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Identity Management, Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Sun Product Suite.
The company will also patch certain Sun Java related products including the Sun Java System Web Server, Java System Application Server and Sun Java System Messaging Server.
