UK wireless carrier Orange has announced that it will be exclusively launching Motorola’s Atrix Smartphone device early May.
The company said that customers will be able to pre-order the device from its retail shops and telesales service in time for a May launch.
The device, touted as the world’s most powerful Smartphone, comes with two 1GHz Tegra 2 processors, 1GB of RAM and an additional WebTop OS that allows to connect the Smartphone to a Motorola laptop and HD dock.
Orange said that the Smartphone will be available for free on a £35 per month, 24 month contract, which would include 600 free minutes, unlimited text messages, 50 MMS and 750 MB data allowance.
Orange customers will be able to purchase the Atrix Work and Play Kit, which includes remote control, mouse, keyboard and HD Multimedia Dock, at a discounted rate of £49.99. Existing Orange customers who upgrade to the device in May will receive the kit for free.
“We're pleased to be bringing Motorola ATRIX to our customers as it is one of the most innovative handsets we've seen this year and it supports our passion for innovation,” Simeon Bird, Director of Propositions, Orange UK said in a statement (opens in new tab).
