Finnish tech giant Nokia has introduced the 3D beta version of OVI maps, the company has revealed.
This new version of the popular application will bring photo realistic three dimensional views of 20 major cities in the world including London straight to your computer. But to enjoy this spectacular feature, users will need to install an 11 MB plug-in first.
The application allows the user to choose the option of a multiple camera angle while taking their virtual journeys throughout these cities. In addition the wide range of camera angles includes the top view, a road level view with 360 panoramic feature and many more.
Expressing his view about this latest offering from the company, Michael Halbherr, senior vice president at Nokia said in a statement: "Ovi Maps' photorealistic 3D models of metropolitan areas are a significant step towards our vision of bridging the real and virtual world, with location-based services being the glue".
Nokia addressing the scope of the product wrote on its official blog: “This is the secret to C3 maps' realistic look compared to competitors' hand-made and cartoonish appearance”.
Although, Nokia has not officially revealed anything about its future plan with the product, it is quite likely that the company is planning to introduce this service in a number of countries as soon as possible.
