A new report has revealed that shipments of the 2nd generation Apple TVs are sky rocketing with more than 2 million units having been shipped since its launch September last year.
This success (opens in new tab)of the American tech giant was brought to light by the Concord Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Tuesday.
The report is a part of the survey Kuo was conducting on the the suppliers of Apple.
According to Kuo, the sales figure of the TV have been quite steady ever since it hit the market last October.
The report also gave a closer view of the trend with which the market responded to this hugely anticipated streaming-centric TV powered by Apple’s own iOS software.
It says that within the first six weeks of its launch, the TV registered approximately 250,000 units, and Apple shipped more than 750,000 units in the next seven weeks alone.
Also, according to Kuo's estimates, the Apple TV will have crossed the 800,000 sales mark by the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2011.
With their success selling the 2nd generation Apple TV, Apple is rumored to be focusing on similar product lines.
