Lenovo Drops Price On Its Cheapest PC Ever

Whilst hunting for a bargain priced PC, we stumbled across this Lenovo product, the ThinkCentre A70 7099, which is a fully fledged machine that costs a mere £152.53 with free delivery from Crescent Electronics.

For that price, you not only get a very decent computer but also one that's backed by an impressive one year onsite warranty, something unheard of at this price level.

The ThinkCentre A70 is also no slouch; it comes with a dual core Intel Celeron E3400 processor clocked at 2.6GHz, 1GB DDR3 SDRAM, a 160GB SATA hard disk drive, a DVD writer, Intel GMA X4500 graphics, keyboard and mouse, a GbE port, six USB ports and a number of legacy ports. Expansivity is good as well with one free memory slot as well as four PCI Express and PCI slots.

The computer's chassis shares little similarities with the cheap cases that are normally available at this price and Lenovo is clearly aiming for the business market by opting for a well thought out, eye-pleasing design that's also practical as it comes with a carry handle.

Unsurprisingly though, Lenovo has opted for a free operating system rather than a Windows-based one, which would have added another £60 to the cost of the machine. Instead, you get FreeDOS (yep, DOS) although we would have preferred any other Linux distribution.
