Motorola Xoom arrives at Carphone Warehouse

Mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse is now stocking the Motorola Xoom Android tablet, on a £25 a month price plan with a truly unlimited data allowance.

The Xoom is Motorola Mobility’s first tablet device and features the Android ‘Honeycomb’ 3.0 OS, which runs from 10.1-inch 1280x800 16:10 touch screen, with a dual core 1Ghz processor and both 3G and WIFI capabilities, along with a 1.2megapixel front and a 5MP rear facing camera.

Motorola’s Xoom costs £199.99 on the £25 a month contract and is the first tablet to arrive on their own talkmobile network with unlimited internet access, from an MVNO with Vodafone being the provider.

Carphone Warehouse is also carrying the Xoom SIM free and unlocked for £579.99, where the price has recently dropped from the recommended retail price of £599.99.

The tariff accompanying the deal falls under Carphone Warehouse’s 'Never pay for the internet' offer. This does exactly what it says on the tin, by allowing for a truly unlimited data allowance that rivals the mobile phone network’s Three no-limits whatsoever data allowance.

One Mobile caught up with Motorola Mobility at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year, where we published a hands-on video walkthrough of the Xoom that can be seen here.
