The rivalry between the electronic giants Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics has reached an new bitter level after the former filed a lawsuit in a US court by claiming that Samsung Smartphones especially its Galaxy phone range violate its intellectual property rights.
Now Samsung has retaliated by accusing Apple of violating its patents related to wireless technology. The original lawsuit filed by Apple stated that the Korean tech firm “stole” and implemented the look as well as the feel of Apple’s iPhone and iPad in its own Samsung Galaxy S smartphone.
"Rather than innovate and develop its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smart phone products and computer tablets, Samsung chose to copy Apple's technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products," the lawsuit said.
Following this development, Samsung reportedly decided to take the battle to the next level with legal retaliation.
A spokesperson of the company said, "Samsung will respond actively to this legal action taken against us through appropriate legal measures to protect our intellectual property,".
Not only that, a report by the Yonhap News Agency also suggests that Samsung is currently considering the option of a counter claim over the violation of its communication standards patents by Apple.
