Sonos has launched a new app designed to help the Google Android owners to control and listen to their music wirelessly throughout their home, the company announced on Tuesday.
This new application, named Sonos Android App, is not the first of its kind by the Multi-room music systems developer. The company previously launched dedicated Android apps, a Spotify tie in and the Sonos iPhone app.
The widely anticipated free app was supposed to be launched in March, but the original release date was then pushed back by the company as its developers wanted to conduct more tests on a larger array of mobile devices.
"We've been testing the app thoroughly over the past couple of months,” said Craig Wisneski, senior product manager at Sonos, in a briefing with TechRadar. “Because of the diversity of phones running Android and all the differing manufacturers, it took us a little longer to make sure everyone would have the same experience. That level of quality is really important to Sonos."
With high-end features and consistent performance, analysts are expecting the free app to be a popular download.
