Hot on the heels of the Lenovo deal we highlighted this morning (a dual core computer for £152), one reader has directed us to a deal from HP which also includes cashback but is for a microserver, the ProLiant N36L.
HP is giving back £100 to all those who purchase the server until the end of the month, and the cheapest we've managed to source is at Crescent Electronics for £221.81 including delivery which means that the server will cost only £112.
For that price you get a great little computer which has a dual core AMD Athlon II NEO N36L clocked at 1.3GHz with 2MB L2 cache and power consumption of only 15W.
There's 1GB RAM (expandable to 8GB using two 4GB modules), a 250GB hard disk drive (expandable to 12TB using four 3TB hard disk drives located behind a lockable door), space for a 5.25-inch peripheral, a 200W power supply, an integrated 4 port SATA RAID and a GbE port. Expansivity is limited to one PCIe x16 and one PCIe x2 slot.
The microserver also comes with a whopping six USB ports, all encased in a chassis that's just over one cubic foot in volume. The only downsides are the lack of an operating system and optical disk drive, although at this price it is hard to complain.
