Social networking giant Facebook has updated its Facebook Groups feature with a new ‘Send’ button that will allow users to share content with people of their choosing.
In a blog post, the company explained that users will be able to use the Send button to share content with a specific group of people instead of their entire friend list.
“A year ago, we launched the Like button, which gives you a quick way to share the things you find on the web with all your friends. But there are times when you find something that you only want to share with a few specific people” Facebook engineer Elliot Lynde wrote on the blog post.
Facebook informed that the new Send button will appear on 50 partner websites including Orbitz, with more to follow. The company also took the opportunity to announce that since its launch six months ago, users have created more than 50 million groups on the platform.
The company also announced deeper integration between Facebook Questions and Facebook Groups, allowing people to poise questions only for members of a particular Group. Users will also be able to upload entire photo albums directly on their group.
