Vodafone will offer the HTC Sensation, the manufacturer's top of the range Android smartphone, from the 19th of May, and customers can already order the handset which will be exclusively available at launch to the mobile phone operator.
The handset will be free on a £35 per month two year contract; included in the deal is 900 minutes, unlimited texts, up to 25MB a day of data in selected European countries and 750MB (but no Wi-Fi) when purchased online; expect to pay an additional £5 per month when purchased instore.
The smartphone comes with a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon system on chip clocked at 1.2GHz, a 4.3-inch qHD Super LCD capacitive screen with a resolution of 960x540 pixels and covered with Corning Gorilla glass.
Other features include an eight megapixel rear camera with a 1.2-megapixel front facing one, virtual surround sound playback, 768MB RAM, 1GB onboard storage and an additional 8GB microSD card, Android OS 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest HTC Sense 3.0, and up to 8hr20min talktime.
The HTC Sensation was formally known as the HTC Pyramid and was unveiled at the beginning of last month. The phone takes over from the HTC Desire HD as the top end model at HTC. The Desire HD is still a perfectly capable handset which costs as little as £368 with unlimited internet for 18 months.
