Enterprise networking giant Cisco has forged an alliance with Xerox to build a cloud based printing ecosystem for organisations.
The alliance hopes to allow employees to print from any device via any printing, thus increasing productivity and the time taken to get things done in the office.
According to the companies, Xerox’s managed print and cloud IT outsourcing services will be combined with Cisco’s intelligent network infrastructure, to create a cloud printing ecosystem for all.
The companies also plan to empower their channel partners with the product and services in order to help them expand their product portfolios and boost investment in IT investment by businesses.
Xerox’s Managed Print Services (MPS) will be combined with the Cisco Borderless Networks platform while Xerox Cloud ITO Services will be integrated with Cisco UCS and Vblock infrastructure offerings.
The companies also plan to offer Xerox Mobile Print Solution on Cisco virtual desktop clients and Cisco Cius.
“Aligning Cisco and Xerox cloud offerings brings the power of intelligent networking to printing to help our mutual customers drive innovation across their businesses and become more agile and reduce costs. This strategic alliance also creates a tremendous opportunity for channel partners to grow revenue by building cloud practices,” said John Chambers, chairman and CEO, Cisco, in a statement.
