On-line mobile phone reseller Expansys now has opened up ordering of HTC’s first tablet device with the Android based Flyer, with a cost attached of £479.99 and a shipping date of May 9th.
Expansys now joins Carphone Warehouse in opening up pre-ordering of the HTC Flyer, who currently has the device listed on a price of £599.99 for the same 16GB version only with no arrival date.
Three announced around the same time the HTC tablet was launched at Mobile World Congress they will be carrying the Flyer, although no prices have been unveiled or tariff details as yet.
The HTC Flyer has a 7-inch 1024x600 TFT touch screen, with a 1.5GHz processor and a 5 megapixel camera, 32GB of internal storage and runs from Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 with the HTC Sense v2.1 overlay to that very OS.
HTC’s Flyer also has a stylus that can be used on the touch screen, in a feature known as HTC Scribe, which allows for writing to take place on the display for note taking and the editing of pictures too.
One Mobile Ring has recently taken delivery of the Flyer, where we’ve produced an initial thoughts review from the contributors to OMR here, along with publishing a hands-on walkthrough in pictures here and a video from MWC here.
