Software giant Microsoft has announced that its Xbox Live users will be able to payments using PayPal online payments platform.
The move is a godsend for gamers who are afraid of handing out their credit card information after the Sony catastrophe. PayPal provides an extra layer of security for online transactions, making it a safer option for Xbox 360 users.
Microsoft said in a blog post that the PayPal integration with Xbox Live is available for users in the United States only,
Gamers won’t be required to give their credit card details while purchasing items from Xbox Live Marketplace and will be able to associate multiple PayPal accounts with their Xbox Live account.
The company also said that gamers will be able to purchase Microsoft Points on Xbox.com and not from the Xbox 360 gaming console.
“It’s pretty easy and just like adding a credit card to your account. Sign in to Xbox.com and head to the account summary page. From there choose “Manage Payment Options” (from the left navigation menu) then click “Add a new PayPal Account.” Follow the instructions and you’ll be set up in no time.” the company explained.
