3 mobile will sell the HTC Flyer on a £25 per month two year contract with an upfront cost of £169, with the mobile phone operator's website showing it as coming soon.
Coolsmartphone received a copy of the company's next instore brochure which says that the phone will come with a 15GB broadband monthly allowance and a total cost of ownership of £769.
Assuming that Three mobile will carry the 32GB version of the HTC Flyer, it would mean that the added broadband cost would be around £170 for two years, which is a correct asking price.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Tab carries the same monthly fee but with a marginally lower upfront cost at £99, while the 32GB version of the iPad carries a whopping £279 upfront price; which means that, at least on 3 Mobile, the HTC Flyer might be a better buy.
The HTC Flyer was launched back in February in Barcelona and comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, there's also either 16GB or 32GB onboard, a five megapixel camera with a 1.3-megapixel front one, a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 1024x600 pixel display, GPS, Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread and HTC Sense user interface.
The tablet will also be available for sale at Carphone Warehouse for around £580 and at Amazon for the same price.
