Mobile phone network Three is now carrying the Android HTC Flyer tablet device, on a £30.99 monthly contract with an initial cost of £169.99.
The HTC Flyer is the High Tech Computer Corporation’s first ever tablet computer. The Flyer runs from a 7-inch 1024×600 TFT screen, with a 1.5GHz processor and a 5 megapixel camera, 32GB of internal storage and Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 with the HTC Sense overlay to that very OS.
HTC's Flyer has had its fair share of critics of late, as the operating system running on the device isn’t the version of Android that has been designed for tablets; ‘Honeycomb’ 3.0 would have been much more suited.
Carphone Warehouse also recently announced they too are stocking the HTC Flyer, with a cost attached of £125 on a £25 per month Talk Mobile contract, which just includes a 5GB data allowance.
Three’s offering a 15GB data allowance with their HTC Flyer deal, with a delivery date of the end of the month.
One Mobile Ring has recently taken delivery of the Flyer, where we’ve produced an initial thoughts review from the contributors to OMR here, along with publishing a hands-on walkthrough in pictures here and a video from MWC here.
