The LG Optimus 2X is about to join the sub-£20 bargain bin as we've noticed that it can now be had on T-Mobile and O2 for just over £20 per month.
Both offers are available from Buymobilephones.net and cost £20.54 and £21.50 per month respectively. However, automatic cashback doled out by the retailer brings the price even closer to £20 which means that the total cost of ownership stands just above £480 on a two year contract.
T-Mobile offers 300 minutes, 300 texts and unlimited data while O2's slightly more expensive package comes with 100 minutes, 500 texts, 500MB data, unlimited UK Wi-Fi via The Cloud & BT Openzone and 20 photo messages.
The LG Optimus 2X, also known as the Star P990, costs around £330 SIM Free, which means that the cost of the package itself (SIM only) is around £150.
The smartphone was the launch partner of the Nvidia Tegra 2; it comes with a dual core part clocked at 1GHz, carries 512MB RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a 4-inch WVGA capacitive screen, runs on Android 2.2 Froyo (with Gingerbread coming in the second half of the year), an eight-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, HDMI & USB ports, Wi-Fi and microSD card.
The phone is already the cheapest dual core smartphone on the market by far and is likely to be replaced by a new model towards the end of the year.
