Sainsburys has taken the lead when it comes to selling the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 the cheapest in the country, as it is slapping on a 20 per cent discount plus 500 Bonus nectar points worth £2.50 (which means that you need to be a Nectar card owner).
The deal is only valid when you preorder the game (either on PC, Xbox 360 or PS3) and only for the first 500 customers when quoting JSCOD820 at check out.
The discount means that the game now costs only £36 down from the original suggested retail price of £45. That said, there is still a long way to go as the game is only released on the 8th of November 2011, nearly six months from now.
Only two games may be purchased at the same time to prevent mass resale, and buying early may not necessarily mean you will get the best price (as others like Amazon have yet to join the fray) or that you will be served first.
Other retailers like Game, Tesco and Asda, have yet to start cutting the price of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 significantly. The game will be the sequel to Modern Warfare 2, which was launched in 2009 and will take place in the US, a few European countries as well as some other exotic locations.
The third iteration of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is likely to be one of the fastest selling games of all times as its predecessor, Black Ops reached $310 million in sales in the first 24 hours.
