A spy video shows a Nintendo developer giving the low-down on the upcoming Wii 2 console, codenamed Project Cafe.
The silent video, which can be seen on Geek.com, was no doubt shot using a cell phone. It shows a slideshow containing photos of the console’s controller. The controller seems to have a wide touchscreen on it, a directional pad and two analog sticks.
The console itself looks like a wider and boxier version of the existing console, but the launch model could vary from the model being shown in the video. The video also indicates that the console would come in black and white.
Earlier, reports on IGN and Develop indicated that the controller would come with a 6-inch screen that would allow users to play games and to use the controller as a tablet device.
In April, the company announced via a press release that it plans to launch the successor to Wii in 2012. The company had also said that it would demo the console at the E3 conference.
“We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles,” the company said.
