Sony is planning to remaster select PlayStation Portable games to launch them in high definition for PlayStation 3.
The games, which will be launched under the PSP Remaster series, will come with a lot of bonus content, Sony said, including support for stereoscopic 3D for some games.
The first PSP game that is set to get a remaster is the Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which will be launched first in Japan during the summer.
"The graphics of the PS3 version, including monsters, fields, equipment, as well as Felyne Comrades, are more gorgeous and vibrant than ever, and will deliver dynamic gameplay when played on the large TV screens," Sony said in a statement, EuroGamer (opens in new tab)reports.
"SCE, with strong support from software developers and publishers, will deploy various measures to enhance the software title line-up for the PS3 system." the company added.
According to the company, the PSP Remaster games will be playable on both the PSP and PS3. Users will also be able sync their game progress across the devices allowing them to continue playing the game they were playing on the PS3, on the PSP while on the move.
Sony however, has only announced its plans for launching games in Japan; so far there is no word on when the titles will be available in Western markets.
