The Opera Mini 6 browser has recently been launched and brings new options for web browsing to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users. This is the first time the browser has become available on iOS devices.
The Opera Mini 6 is an alternative web browser able to load pages faster than the other available browsers. The compression and proxy browser technology allows the browser to load pages fast even if the network is crowded or slow. Opera stated that their new browser for iOS can compress 90% of data traffic which leads to faster browsing.
The design of Opera Mini 6 has been optimized for iDevices. The browser now offers pinch-to-zoom and two-finger panning with support for the iPad and iPad 2 as well as for the iPhone 4 Retina Display. Direct sharing is supported via Facebook, Twitter and the MyOpera service. Navigation is easier now thanks to the visual tabs and users can open new pages in the background tab.
The International font support has also been improved and is now available in Arabic, Chinese, Vietnamese and other non-Latin languages.
Opera Mini 6 is available for free download from http://m.opera.com/ or from Apple’s App Store.
It seems that users have a lot of reasons to give up Safari and replace it with Opera Mini 6.
