On-line retail giant Amazon has now listed the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 on sale in Germany, for 606.50 Euros or for around £529.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android device at the end of March, with another new screen sizes in the 10.1-inch screen that Vodafone has laid claim to – both of which run from the Android ‘Gingerbread’ 3.0 OS.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 8.9 arrives with an 8.9-inch 1280x800 WXGA touch screen, in a 8.6mm thin case whilst being powered by a 1Ghz dual-core processor, with HSPA+ functionality and weighing in at 470grams.
Samsung’s Touchwiz UX has live panels, with customisable home screens that can be populated with social networking feeds, websites and digital pictures. There is also a mini app tray, which offers up quick access to frequently used applications that can be launched at any time no matter what is currently running.
The entertainment hub is part and parcel of the new tablets, delivering the reader and music hub with access to 2.2 million books, 2,000 newspapers, 2,300 magazines and 13 million tracks.
No details were listed on the UK version of Amazon’s website, nor have any of the UK mobile phone networks mentioned any interest but One Mobile Ring expects we will be hearing from them soon.
