Asus Set To Launch Galaxy Tab Rival At Computex?

With a few days left until Computex, Asus has started teasing members of the press with four products that will be launched at the event in Taiwan, which starts on the 30th of May and we are covering from the Taipei International Convention Center.

The company unveiled a poster yesterday on its Facebook page (opens in new tab) that shows the outline of a device next to a statement that reads "Break the rules : Pad or Phone?"

The poster was published one day after Asus' marketing website, TechinStyle published pictures of what looked like a tablet device with "gentle edges, complementary tones and a little bump and a clip" according to the description on the website.

Back then we were convinced that it could well be a 10-incher but the fact that the statement on Facebook mentions "pad or phone" leaves us to believe that Asus will bring out a 7-incher instead, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the Acer Iconia A100.

The device may well turn out to be a smaller version of its popular Asus Eee Pad Transformer with the same screen resolution (1280x800), the same SoC, the Nvidia Tegra 2 clocked at 1GHz but with the added benefit of being able to make calls and send texts.
