MVNO Promises To Cut iPad Data Roaming Charges By 95 Per Cent

If you're looking to travel to the US soon, Tru, a company that claims to be the world’s first intelligent global mobile network operator, is promising to cut iPad roaming bills for UK customers by a staggering 95 per cent.

Its new mobile broadband will cost £20 per month and give 1GB worth of Data in UK, USA and Australia on a 12 month contract; it will be available to UK businesses as from today.

Tru says (opens in new tab) that the savings can reach at least 95 per cent when compared to other service providers. Spain, Hong Kong and Netherlands will be joining the three existing countries soon with another 20 other countries - including France, Germany and Italy - likely to be added over the next few months.

Geraldine Wilson, CEO of Tru, said: “If you have an iPad, and travel, this product is an absolute must-have. There are no comparable rates or data allowances anywhere in the market place.”

The company, which was created back in 2006 and was formerly known as truphone, also offers other interesting cross border bundles which will be well suited for businesses looking to cut the price of voice, data and text comms for their employees.

Unfortunately, Tru doesn't currently offer a pay as you go scheme and targets mainly businesses. It also provides an App that allows you to make low cost calls either on 3G or via Wi-Fi.
