PSN out from 4.30pm for scheduled maintenance

Sony's PlayStation Network will be off-line for scheduled maintenance from 16:30 today, June 1st and 7am tomorrow.

Players who sign in before that time will be able to continue the session they are in, but log-in will be disabled after that time.

The PlayStation Store on PS3 and PSP, account registration and account management will also be switched off for the duration.

Logged-in players will be able to accumulate in-game trophies and these will be added to a player's profile the next time he or she logs in.

Sony hasn't given details of the maintenance being carried out but it's a pretty fair bet it has something to do with the recent security breach which resulted in the theft of personal details from more than 100 million user accounts.

Sony says everything will be back to normal 'by the end of the week'.
