Microsoft came up with an update on its E3 website stating that Halo 4 is “on the way” hours before the keynote speech at Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The operating system giant took down the update soon after, but it has confirmed the existence of the next instalment of the Halo series of games. Other games are also expected and they include Dance Central 2, Kinect Star Wars, and Kinect Sports 2.
The apparent mistake on Microsoft end did have a positive note for the millions of Halo fans out there. They have been assured that the there is still a lot of Halo to come. With the previous version being developed by Microsoft and 343 industries, it is highly likely that the duo will be behind the development of the next edition of Halo. The update also mentioned the planned release of the re-mastered version of Halo: Combat Evolved which would mark the 10th anniversary of Halo’s First game.
The update on E3 might be a controlled release to create a buzz for E3 as it happens that the keynote at E3 is timed at the same instant as that of Apple’s World Wide Developer’s Conference. The E3 Keynote is scheduled at 12:30 PM EDT, just 30 min before that of Apple’s WWDC Keynote.
