iPhone 4 is now free

Popular high-street retailer Phones 4u has just brought out an exclusive on-line offer, for the 16GB version of the iPhone 4 with no cost and on a £35 a month contract.

Apple’s iPhone 4 went on sale in the UK nearly a whole year ago, where the mobile phone makers WWDC event in America was due to herald in a new handset, just as it has every year since 2007 – only a new version of the iOS was unveiled instead.

Apple’s year-old mobile arrived with a new design unseen before in the series, along with FaceTime, which is their own video calling ability over WIFI. This is from a front facing camera of the handset that hasn’t featured in the previous models, with the image being shown on the mobile’s 3.5-inch 960x640 multi-touch retina display.

On board is a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash, capable of HD video recording driven by Apple’s A4 processor and all encased in a new stainless steel case design that took the title of the thinnest smartphone in the world.

Phones 4u has a zero price for the iPhone 4, where mobile phone networks still have a fee attached and a similar costing tariff for the Apple handset. The contract that accompanies the deal is on Vodafone, with 600 minutes, a 3,000 text message bundle and a 500MB data allowance.
