Oracle has released new hardware and software solutions that allow clients to deploy private cloud-computing environments within their organisation.
The Oracle Optimised Solution for Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure comes with a combination of blade servers, operating system and storage appliances. The new line-up will allow clients to implement internal infrastructure-as-a-service clouds.
According to the company, the solution comprises of Oracle’s Sun Blade server, Oracle Solaris or Oracle Linux operating system, Oracle’s ZFS Storage Appliance, and Oracle VM. Oracle is offering its own consulting services to help clients with the implementation and management of the solution.
The VM solution being offered by Oracle in Optimised Solution is compatible with Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Applications. The solution will also be compatible with Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g platform.
“Oracle is radically simplifying cloud deployment with a pre-tested, single vendor solution for enterprise cloud infrastructure,” said Ali Alasti, vice president of hardware development, Oracle, Business Standard (opens in new tab) reports.
“By engineering our hardware and software together, the Oracle Optimized Solution for Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure cuts deployment time from weeks to hours and helps customers get virtualized infrastructure up and running faster.”
