Sony Ericsson has used social networking platform Facebook to launch its two new smartphones.
The company unveiled the new Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman music phone and the Sony Ericsson txt pro which comes with a slide-out Qwerty keyboard and several social networking applications.
The Walkman branded smartphone comes with a 3-inch touchscreen, a 3.2 MP camera capable of video recording and supports memory card of up to 32GBs. The phone also comes with a dedicated Zappin key that makes it easier for users to search for their favorite songs.
The txt pro comes with a full slide out Qwerty keyboard and a 3-inch screen and sports a 3.2 MP camera.
Sony Ericsson said that the devices will be available in the third quarter of 2011, though the prices were not released.
“We wanted to take advantage of our extensive Facebook fan base when announcing these phones, bringing the fans closer to both our products and brand. We are really pleased that consumers liked them for their music and social media functionality and expect them to become great additions to our overall portfolio of entertaining phones," said Quentin Cordier, Global Product Marketing Manager, Sony Ericsson, Reuters reports.
