A citizen of the Leicester City Council has filed a Freedom of Information request with the government body, inquiring about its plans to deal with a zombie invasion.
Robert Ainsley wrote to the council about its plans for handling a potential zombie invasion in the future.
"Can you please let us know what provisions you have in place in the event of a zombie invasion?" he wrote.
"Having watched several films it is clear that preparation for such an event is poor and one that councils throughout the kingdom must prepare for." he added.
The council was predictably taken aback with this strange FOI request and is yet to file a formal replay. However, council officials have admitted that there were no specific plans to tackle a zombie invasion.
Lynn Wyeth, head of information governance at the council, address the issue during a radio show that even though there were no specific provisions to combat a zombie invasion, certain parts of the emergency plan can be deployed.
“We've had a few wacky ones but this one did make us laugh. It's one of those questions that you could do a one-liner saying there is nothing specifically in the emergency plan to state a response to a zombie invasion,” she said.
