PCI Standards Council Launches New Online Awareness Programme

The PCI Security Standards Council announced on Monday the availability of the new PCI Awareness online training programme.

According to the council, the newly unveiled, four-hour long training program has been aimed at potential participants, who are interested in updating their knowledge on PCI.

In addition to this, the training program will also provide the candidates with a basic overview of PCI security in a flexible online format, it claimed.

The training program will cover areas such as - PCI overview, significance of the PCI Sata Security Standards for businesses, the responsibilities and roles to be played by key actors during the compliance procedure, the difference between various credit card brands when it comes to the need for PCI validation and reporting, an insight to the real-world scenarios involving PCI challenges and success, and many more.

“PCI is not a finance issue, or an IT issue, or a risk issue, it is cross functional, and it fundamentally relies on people, not technology, driving it,” Bob Russo, general manager, PCI Security Standards Council said (opens in new tab).

“Our hope is that with PCI Awareness training online, organizations can ensure that they build a base level of understanding on how to best protect cardholder data across different business areas,” he added.
