Vodafone gets a big ego

Mobile phone network Vodafone has listed a new low cost LG handset with built in WIFI, on pay as you go deals with a cost of £65.

Lucky Goldstar’s LG Ego WIFI was announced at Mobile World Congress this year with little fanfare, due to the budget nature of the phone where the company’s emphasis was on their flagship devices – the LG Optimus 3D and Optimus Pad.

LG’s T5 series came in three different models, the basic T500 with no WIFI, the T530 with NFC capabilities and the T505 with access to WIFI functionality.

The LG Ego is that last model under a more friendlier name, which has a price point that normally doesn’t see WIFI abilities. The mobile phone arrives with a 2.8inch QVGA TFT resistive touch screen, a 2 megpixel camera, Quad band and EDGE capabilities with a 4G microSD card for music storage.

On board is access to the LG SNS dedicated interface that offers up the most popular social networking sites with faster onscreen access. There is also the LiveSquare feature, which is a management app for keeping track of user’s most frequent used contacts.

Vodafone’s offering of the LG Ego WIFI mobile comes in at £65 on prepay deals, starting from £10 .50 a month and delivers 100 minutes, with a 500 text message allowance.
