Virgin Mobile flips for Alcatel

Entertainment giant Virgin Media has announced it has exclusively taken stock of the Alcatel clamshell VM665 budget mobile phone, on pay as you go deals for £29.99.

Alcatel’s VM665 key is affordability, with that low cost on Virgin Media for their existing prepay and new customers with instant photo sharing from the 2 megapixel camera.

The VM offering of the VM665 arrives with a 2MP camera, an MP3 and FM Radio player, with access to audio, video streaming, Facebook and Twitter along with support for email in the forms of Hotmail, Googlemail and Yahoo.

There’s 2MB of memory built-in, whilst being expandable to 8GB with microSD card for music, video and photos, with an LED screen on the front that displays’ who’s calling with notifications for text messages and missed calls.

Virgin Media PAYG customers can buy the VM665 on that £29.99 cost, when bought with a £10 top up with 300 complimentary text messages and an extra £5 provides unlimited text messages and a 1GB data allowance.

Owners of the handset will be able to call VM landlines for free, as a part of the prepay package where they are the first home phone provider in the UK to do so which could save a small fortune for anyone using the service.
