Samsung flip phone arrives on Virgin Mobile

Entertainment giant Virgin Media has announced the Samsung C3560 clamshell phone has come to its mobile network on pay as you go plans, with a cost attached of £60 for the handset.

The low cost Samsung flip device comes with a 2.2-inch 240x320 QVGA TFT LCD screen, with 2 megapixel camera, FM Radio and music player, 40MB of internal storage memory and support for 16GB microSD cards.

Onboard is the Samsung native SNS social networking hub, which brings with it access to the sites such as Facebook and Twitter, along with instant messaging from Yahoo! messenger and Windows Live Messenger.

Samsung's CM3560 arrives with a metallic and compact design, with a minimalistic form factor and curved edging plus a higher-end look that isn't usually seen on lower-end models.

The handset is also has software in the form of mobile tracker 2.0, which alerts the phone's owner when the mobile’s SIM card is changed, helping to recover the lost or stolen mobile. This is along with the ability fake an incoming call that allows someone to get out of meeting, or a similar situation.

Virgin Media’s prepay contracts accompanying the Samsung C3560 start from a £10 a month top-up, which has a 300 text message bundle where £15 provides unlimited text messages and a 1GB data allowance.
