HTC may unveil the bigger brother to its Flyer tablet as early as next week according to a Dutch news website which covers Android.
Planet Android (opens in new tab) says that the tablet will be unveiled next week, on June 27th, during a special event in London along with a number of other devices. We have yet to hear anything from HTC.
According to the source, the presentation will revolve around the theme "where design and advanced technology can lead".
The Puccini is likely to be "just" a bigger version of the HTC Flyer but without the stylus. The 7-inch tablet was revealed back in February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
It has already been launched in the UK but its rather hefty price tag (£600 for the 32GB version) is apparently making it a rather hard sell, based on Amazon's best selling tablets list.
Expect Puccini to come with Android Honeycomb 3.1 with a 4G version destined for AT&T being released later this year. HTC is also expected to showcase the Flyer with the just announced Android 3.2, a Honeycomb version specially designed for 7-inch tablets.
Will HTC reduce the price of the Flyer when the Puccini is launched or will it simply push up the price of the newcomer? The answer may come next week.
