Apple Locks Horns With Samsung In Korea, Files Patent Lawsuit

Apple Inc. is going one on one with the Korean tech juggernaut Samsung Electronics on its home turf itself, new reports revealed.

According to Bloomberg, the Cupertio, California based iPhone maker has filed a patent lawsuit against Samsung in South Korea, thus taking the ugly battle involving technologies and designs featured in some of their key mobile devices, into a an entirely new level.

Apple filed the lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court a couple of days back on June 22. The news, as it seems, first broke out when the court first published the case-record on its website. The case-record, however, did not reveal too much about the claims made by Apple in the lawsuit.

But, another report by Money Today claims that it’s the same old story of Apple alleging Samsung of copying the design of its iPhone 3 in the Galaxy S Smartphone.

Samsung on the other hand, said that it would keep on putting every possible effort in defending its intellectual properties.

“We will continue to actively defend and protect our intellectual property,” Suwon, South Korea-based Samsung said in an e-mailed statement, according to the Bloomberg report.
