Facebook has made place for one of the most admired entrepreneur of the tech world, Reed Hastings on its board of directors.
The chief executive officer of Netflix, the leading movies and shows rental service in the United States has decided to join Palo Alto, California-based social networking giant Facebook Inc. as one of its six board of directors, according to a Bloomberg report (opens in new tab).
“Reed is an entrepreneur and technologist who has led Netflix to transform the way people watch movies and TV. He has built a culture of continuous rapid innovation, something we share and work hard to build every day." Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chief executive of Facebook said in a statement on Thursday, Xihuanet reports (opens in new tab).
Hastings, who pulled Netflix through IPO nearly ten years ago, is expected to help Facebook through his vast experience and expertise in the digital entertainment section. He will join business leaders like Marc Andreessen, Donald Graham and Jim Breyer in Facebook.
Hastings who is also a member of the board of director at Redmond, Washington-based Microsoft Corp. will help social networking company that plans stream music and movies on its website in the near future.
