Less Than 20 Percent Companies Reaping Virtualisation Benefits Claims Forrester

A new report suggests that the Information and Technology organisations in Europe and elsewhere are quite surprisingly ignoring the advantages that data virtualisation has brought along.

According to a Market Watch report (opens in new tab), less than one in five companies located in North America and Europe are making use of data virtualisation.

The research titled, Data virtualization reaches critical mass (opens in new tab), which was conducted by market intelligence company, Forrester Research has revealed that not even 20 percent of IT companies in the marked locations are using data virtualisation to reap its maximum benefits.

The report says that two to three years, the deployment of this technology is expected to increase with the help of increasing awareness about the success of this technology along with intervention of third parties.

"Driven by new capabilities and fuelled by customer successes, data virtualization delivers on the promise of information-as-a-service (IaaS) by enabling tactical solutions that also deliver a stepping stone to enterprise data management. Introduce this technology into your integration toolkit", analyst Brian Hopkins has advised in the report.

Hopkins has informed that companies that integrated the data virtualisation technology into their tool kit at the very outset are enjoying great success in the market.
