CoPilot 9 comes to Android

Satellite navigation company ALK Technologies has released a new version of its mobile sat nav software for Android, in the CoPilot Live Premium application.

CoPilot Live Premium is based around version 9 of their navigation software, which is geared up for smartphones and tablets with maps pre-installed and not downloaded over the air – and the ability to be used in a car, or even on foot.

New features in this latest version of their software surround social media networking with updates that can be posted en route, a more intuitive user interface and the capability to fully personalise the navigated route with three alternatives on offer.

There are also more established abilities of sat nav, such as highlighting useful information about locations and simply dragging the route on screen to adjust it.

CoPilot Live Premium is now available from the Android Market for £14.99 for UK and Ireland maps and £29.99 for European maps, for the next 7 days only – where the cost increases to £29.99 and £59.99, respectively.

There is also an opt in cost of the ActiveTraffic service that updates traffic in real-time, at £9.99.

Alk is still awaiting approval from Apple for the application to appear in the iTunes App Store, where the CoPilot Live Premium for the iPhone and HD version for the iPad are expected soon.
